Hello everyone.
I just did today the Avast Rescue Disk on my USB, and Avast downloaded the files and succefuly instaled the Rescue Disk on my USB.

But, I noticed that Avast also installed 3 programs on my computer(even without admin access):

- Windows Deployment Tools
- Windows PE x86 x64
- Windows PE x86 x64 wims

So, why Avast install those programs?
Also, can I (or should I) uninstall these programs and also delete the "AvastPETookit" folder? (location: C:/users/myusername/documents).

Thank you guys, and sorry for any English Mistakes.

Windows PE is used to make the rescue disk/usb bootable and usable.

Nice to know that.
Since those programs are from a trusted source, I will leave them installed.

And about the folder "AvastPEToolkit", if I don't remove it and do another Rescue Disk, Avast will only update the files or it will download everything again?

If you remove it and create another rescue disk/usb, they will be downloaded again.

They don't take up much disk space and you will need all to create another rescue disk/usb.
I would say, just leave them as they are.
No need to remove things you may need/want in the future again, right  ;)

Ok then, I will leave them.
Thank you for answering my question.

Gotta love Community Support Boards ;-)

I just did an Avast Rescue Disk (2014) and noticed Avast installed portions of Windows ADK (somewhat annoying, since I want to install ADK81 and Avast installs ADK80, but I think they can co-exist). Also noticed that Avast dumped the installer files in My Documents \ AvastPEToolkit. You do NOT need these files once ADK is installed. Avast will NOT re-download them, it is intelligent enough to notice ADK is already installed. I tested this by creating another Rescue ISO after having renamed the AvastPEToolkit folder.

Just so you know...
Best Regards,
