Well finally i submitted a support ticket to avast. They suggested repair or re installation. I tried repair the process successfully completed but update problem remained so i uninstalled avast using avast uninstaller in safe mode. Then i downloaded avast pro from the link they provided. After installation i am facing a new problem. Now avast trey ion has a red cross and it said "you are unprotected-Avast service is off" clicking resolve all does not help. So basically i am without a antivirus right now. Please help. Hitman pro scan and MBAM free scan showed no infection.

Make sure you have the Avast file stored somewhere on your HDD.  Try this uninstaller tool to remove all traces of remnants http://rejzor.wordpress.com/avast-cleanup-tool/, then reboot.  Install Avast, register, set your settings and reboot again.

Make sure nothing in your firewall is blocking Avast.

Let us know how this goes.  Thank you.

@Safesurf
Thanks for the link but after using avast clean up tool 1.3 the problem is still the same. After reboot avast is still showing unprotected- avast service is off.

Gautam

Do you have the problem if the firewall is off?

If you turn on Windows Defender with the machine's internal firewall (by passing Avast), do you still have the problem?

Is your MBAM on-demand or resident?

I don't use windows defender. I have turned off it long time ago. MBAM in on demand.

If you by pass Avast, I don't want you to go unprotected.  Can you turn it on and update the definitions to test to see if it is Avast or your proxy?

I wonder if HtmanPro is the culprit. ???
Can you uninstall it, do a clean install of avast!Pro, reboot.
See if your Pro version of avast is working properly and if it is, reinstall HitmanPro

Sorry guys i was away from home for few days.
@Safesurf
I have turned on the real time protection of windows defender and updated it through the same proxy avast been refusing to connect.
@Bob3160
There is nothing to uninstall with Hitman pro. Its just a standalone program i just have to run whenever i want it to scan. Besides i a using Hitman pro for ages along with avast
Avast is still unsecured with all service off. What can i do next?

I am still waiting for somebody to analyse the log report i posted in reply 8 of this thread.

You still have a driver from  Zemana AntiLogger trying to run, this may be causing a conflict.  Could you attach the FRST text file so that I can take a proper look

You also have an ESET driver running

CAUTION :  This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Quote

S2 ekrn; "C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\ekrn.exe" [X]
S1 AntiLog32; \??\C:\Windows\system32\drivers\AntiLog32.sys [X]
C:\Program Files\ESET
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\AntiLog32.sys
EmptyTemp:
CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that
