@Essexboy

Sorry to say but avast service is still off. Avast support also asked me to remove malwarebyte from my computer. They said i have also have superantispyware but i don't have it i uninstalled it a long time ago. I don't know why they are giving trouble after so along. Same case with eset or antilogar, last i used them may be around 2011.

Can you please try to remove all the junk from my computer?

Lets now look at the system services

Download and run farbar service scanner

Tick "All" options.
Press "Scan".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Services look good.  Could you install this version of Avast please

http://files.avast.com/beta9x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe  it is the beta (appears to be very stable) and may circumvent the problems you are experiencing

Thanks essexboy,
Avast beta seem to have solved all my problem. Avast is working and its also updating through my university proxy, which was my initial problem where avast refused to connect to internet through proxy. Is there anything i need to do? Can i install back malwarebyte antimalware? is MBAM any good? In the past it did detect something which avast missed in the first place.

Gautam

Certainly, reinstall MBAM.

I will remove my bits and bobs now :)

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Download and run Delfix

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

CryptoPrevent install this programme to lock down and prevent crypto ransome ware

Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

Check crypto prevent for updates weekly.  Just run the programme and select updates on the menu bar

This programme does not run it just hardens the group policy settings in the registry

Hi everyone, i am now using avast without any major problem so i think somebody should close this thread. But i am having a very minor trouble with avast. Avast 2015 beta does not seem to automatically update its virus database. Today its been 5 hour since i connected the internet but i got no pop up massage but when i tried to update manually it updated successfully. It might be some beta related problem, i am sure the final build will solve this minor problem.

A big thank you to everyone for the support.

Gautam

It is all in the timing, if there was no update when the system booted then it will wait four hours before trying again.   If an update is released at 4hours and 2 minutes after the boot up check then you will miss that one as well.  However,   you are covered by streaming updates

To add to what Essexboy stated, you can also force a "manual" update as well if you want to.

Or, you can right click the icon in the sys. tray and, select update. Then select which part to update.
