Avast! Web Shield blocking South Park clips
« on: July 30, 2014, 08:28:57 PM »
Hello! I noticed that with Web Shield activated, you cannot watch full episodes or clips on official South Park page (hxxp://southpark.cc.com) even if the url is put on exclusions. Tested with IE and Firefox.

ThreatStop show it as an invalid IP address.
IPtracker.org show it as being in Colorado http://www.ip-tracker.org/locator/ip-lookup.php?ip=67.132.30.194

Something may be wrong with that website...

When I crawled the javascript I found nothing bad.
I had no problems with the website.
If you feel it's a false positive use this form http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php

In the future please do not post live links. Use hxxp or htxp to make it a dead link.
By doing so you may prevent another user from getting infected.

Thanks for your reply. It seems that the blocking was caused by some url specified in my "Site Blocking" list that I build over time(some of them related to web ads), which prevented the videos to start. I completely forgot about this list because in the latest versions of Avast!, it is so well hidden:). The clips are still NOT starting with Firefox(only with IE) but I doubt Avast! has anything to do with it so I take back everything I said in my previous post.
