Avast download for surf anonymously
« on: August 10, 2014, 08:49:05 PM »
I've heard of this and searched for it, find very little info. like a review, mostly sites that have the download. I did a search here in the forums and got only 23 hits, none of w/addressed using this feature, problems, nothing. Most just mention the word 'anonymous.'

Can anyone inform me if there's any issues with installing the download? Incompatibilities, works as described? I'm thinking it must do more than just use a proxy to mask your IP or else other types of identifying info would allow sites to track you.

Thanks,

Mac

There are add-on's you can put in your browser(s) to help avoid tracking and surf anonymously.  See my signature and some other Evang. like DavidR.  I also don't use G00gle as a search engine; there are anonymous ones available.  Usually in browsers, they also give you the option to surf by "Do Not Track" and "Private Browsing" as well.

DuckDuckGo is just one of those alternative Search Engines:

Another one is: http://gibiru.com/
Also offers the FireFox add-on for anonymous searching/browsing.
