Attachemnts on e-mails

I just down loaded Version 4.1.287 and now I can not send out any e-mails with attachments, I get an error message that the connection was closed by foreign host. I am pretty sure it is Avast that is the problem because I did change my e-mail settings so it would not go through Avast and I had no problem with sending attachments, has any one else have this problem. I do not know if it is an error in the program. I am running Eudora 6.0.

I just downloaded 4.1.287 version too and I cannot send attachments in Outlook Express too  :'(  :'(

All avast! settings is ok (I know how to configurate them, of course...). Inbound mail is ok too...

I've just checked Outlook 2002 and Pegasus Mail, both are working fine on the new update for me (send and Receive with attachments).

Is it any particular kind of attachment you are trying to send (text, exe, image etc) I tested with a .gif with no problems.

I'm trying .gif and .doc and could not send them.
Today morning I receive and send .doc files with easy...

In avast! iNews is said that a timeout problem related to SMTP communication was fixed. Is this related to my problem? I think not because is not a timeout trouble... I´ll keep working but this new bug is really annoying...  :'(

I'm becoming crazy  
I boot the computer, run Mail Protection Wizard and nothing is solving the problem  
Outlook Express does not send any kind of attach file...  :'(

It's really strange Tech, I've just tested again from Pegasus to Outlook then from Outlook to Pegasus all on different accounts. I just can't duplicate the problem.

Just wondering... does dropping your firewall temararily help?.

Also wondering... are you scanning outgoing mail and attachments and/or inserting a 'clean' message.

I don't so just trying to think of any differences in our configurations.!

Version 4.1.289 was released 30 minutes ago.
It only has one fix, and that is this ashMaiSv.exe.
