Typing in 216.178.46.224 didn't work.  Same results as before.

Worked here. As to "downforeveryonebutme" it does appear to work with https.
At least it did when the forums were down.

@Chim  Do you have any third party software doing the actual blocking?  ???

The forum back then had an http address not https. :)

No, Para-Noid, I don't have any blocking software.

As I mentioned in an earlier comment, it's possible that the problem might be related to that sudden AOL message that I've been getting after bootup is finished of something along the lines that the AOL Host Manager was not loaded because some dll could not be found.

It's no biggie.  I'll just let it go.
As long as the websites that I actually use still work, and they do, then I'm okay.
