System Restore Point

I need to do a system restore to remove crap that someone else installed in June. The earliest system restore point is 1 Aug 14 with Avast. Is there a way to find an earlier restore point thru Avast or am I simply out of luck?

Check for earlier restore point through windows.
Keep in mind that system restore is a restore for some Windows components only, not to remove software.
For that you will need a drive image.

3 months ago restore point?
Well, you're putting too much hope in a very instable and not reliable backup "solution".
Try a full partition/disk backup with, for instance, Macrium Free and we can think about 3 month restoration.
