Registration Problem
« on: September 08, 2014, 02:20:44 PM »
It was time to renew my free version of Avast, this i tried to do. The Register now link does not work, so i used the offline registration which appears to work. I entered my information, and was then emailed a licence key. This i copied and pasted as per the instructions into the registration box, and was met with the information  "is not a valid licence key!" I checked that i had copied and pasted it correctly; redoing it several times, all to no avail.
I then requested for the key to be resent to my email, it was, it was exactly the same as the first key, and it once again informed me that it "is not a valid licence key!"
Current version of program is: 2014.9.0.2021; Update version is: 140908-0.
I have done a repair program on Avast and tried the key again, it is still not being accepted. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

me too!!
And I have raised it on another thread.
It seems that Avast have some issues currently
Lets hope they work them out v soon
The only thing I can think to do is to delete and  fresh install - seems drastic but may sort it

Nope ! tried a clean install as well ,cant register with the licence key sent , cant register offline ,can't register online as the  selection box does not open after choosing free antivirus option, used this program for years with no problems ,latest upgrade seems to work fine , but will only be good for 30 days :(

Yes I've done the same and yes in answer to your other post I too smell a scam.
I've used this product for years on several laptops and desktops but it would appear that Avast are now to big and established to support the home user of the free product.
So I have 30 days to choose another supplier - must be a good open source supplier out there somewhere?? :-\ ::)
