Chrome 64 bit stable
« on: August 28, 2014, 05:13:45 AM »
Will the new Avast 2015's realtime protection modules work with Chrome 64 bit?  Today Chrome 37 64 bit was released into Chrome stable channel so 64 bit Chrome is now mainstream product.

It should work, but there is only one way to find out.
Try it. ;)

I think only script shield isn't ready for Chrome x64, because it uses low level hooking methods to filter this browser. As you're saying it's now in stable channel, we'll try to look at this issue.

Yup,  official announcement here.

If you are able to get it ready for any of the 2015 betas or official release, putting in a small footnote about it it would be swell.

PK as of now I am using the 32-bit version of Google Chrome with the latest version of Avast Free 2014.9.0.2021. I look forward to using the 64 bit google chrome once you fix the issue with the script shield when you release Avast 2015.

Chrome 37 64-bit will be supported in the next Beta2. You can test it and report if it's working correctly. Thanks.

Sorry I can't do that! I don't install Betas of any programs there's risks involved and I don't want my laptop to malfunction. I will wait for the final release of Avast 2015.

I am willing, but how would I know that script shield is working?  In the old Avast, script shield had it own real time monitor so you could easily tell if script shield is working, but now everything is put under webshield and I don't really know.
