I've installed Avast on my mac OS Mavericks.. The problem is, when using Safari, although it shows the Icon on the toolbar, it doesn't show the options it probably should when prompted. What can I do to fix it? What are the option the where supposed to be showed?

Seems like a font cache problem.

I've tried using the utility (update cache list, then nuke font cache), but it didn't work. Any other suggestions?

(I'm presuming you quitted Safari or even rebooted after using the utility so changes can take effect)
Restart in Safe Boot like the Quark article says, other than that, no, no other suggestions.

Yes, Safari was closed. I'll try the other way (safe mode), then let you know.
