Win32:Spyklog-D
« on: August 03, 2005, 06:40:46 PM »
Running Avast Home latest ver. After last update, program found Win32:Spyklog-D in C:\Program Files\Webroot\Washer\Languages\English.dll. This is a Window Washer file that has not changed since installed in March. I had to add this file to the Standard Shield On-Access exclusions in order to run the program. This is definitely a false positive. I ran a Google, Yahoo, and Teoma search for this virus/trojan, and got absolutely no hits. A search on Avast's web site also yielded no return for this. Anyone have a clue what this is?

Thanks,
Rod

If you are getting a virus warning that you believe is a false positive, then if you can zip and password protect ('virus', will do) the suspect file and send it to virus @ avast.com (no spaces).

Give a brief outline of the problem, the fact that you believe it to be a false positive and include the password in the body of the email. Some info on the avast version and VPS number (see about avast {right click avast icon}) will also help.

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive. You can't do this with the file in the chest, you will need to move it out.
Or VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner

I'm sure the last version of English.dll from Window Washer (6.0.5.409) is not detected as a virus by the last avast! version (4.6.691 and VPS 0531-2). At least, it was tested in a computer of a friend of mine that give me the details  8)

Sorry for multiple posts,

I updated Window Washer to ver 6.0.5.409, and as stated above, Avast shows no virus. Must be only in earlier bulid.

Thanks for replies,
Rod
