Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 - Virtualization not supported.
So,no NG for me ?
@abruptum: it depends on your OS (see my previous post, question no. #2)

Tried to test this Beta with and without TimeFreeze on a real system, both times running into a locked up system after running a few files.
@Steven Winderlich: I'd be very interested to see your system deadlock. Can you please run http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/osrbang_x64.exe (move dialog to the corner), install avast and when your system hangs, please click on "CRASH" button. Please compress \Windows\memory.dmp (rar/7z) and upload this file on our FTP (or somewhere else) and send me the link on my email (kurtin@avast.com). Thanks!

I like the new skin of beta 2, but I'm not satisfied with some details. So at first: In beta 1 you had four configurable quick start buttons, in beta 2 only three (like in avast! 2014). And the second thing: Some fonts (for example in options menu or in the dropdown menus of the main interface) and colours don't fit to the new skin (see attachments).

I hope you guys can fix it in beta 3. :)

PS: Sorry for my probably bad English.

Hi sanandreas,

these are small things and can be corrected easily.

But its more important to work on stability and security features.

I think this has been suggested at some point already but why not add PUP detection selection (ON/OFF) into setup process? It's really critical part nowadays since PUPs are becoming more and more common and devastating these days. I would think lots of users (30%+?) have it off since they have no clue about it.

Also I believe more work needs to be done with General settings window. It's quite complicated to browse thru settings categories because there is no adequate distinction between them (especially with screens that have bad viewing angles - try it out if possible). It becomes big white mess sometimes (depending on angle etc).

For example with my laptop screen (ASUS K53SV), it's really bad to read them when I bring the screen closer (increase angle). In the other hand, opposite to that (lay screen more down) I can distinguish them well. (this laptop has really bad viewing angles). That's really minor annoyance but I thought I'd share it.

Thanks pk that sorts out my concerns.I would definately be looking out for more of this.So if i have win7 do i need HW? Its nice to have things sorted.

30% is indeed huge margin, definately we will see ng compatability growing in beta sessions.

Did avast adjust my system restore point space to 100%?, I had it set to 1% of a 2tb disk, how much space does NG need? ive only got 3 snapshots that aren't very big at all, is it correct?, can I adjust system restore space to around 10/20% of 2tb and use NG properly.

That could get dangerous if you don't have a lot of free space.

Go into the bios and search for a virtualization option you should find it somewhere. If it's not there then let it go and custom install the beta and check if you have NG listed the installation options.I think in couple of weeks we will have dyna-gen which should make up for this incompatability for some systems.

I have 2 systems one with win 7 and other win 8 and both had HW disabled in the bios but I still got NG.  :)

Yep as I expected.Ran avast! installer on my host laptop running windows 7 and had VT-X on and it did show me NG in custom install then rebooted to BIOS and turned VT-X off and after booting back up and re-running the installer I still get NG in custom installation.

I am going to run this on some systems with different specs.I ran this on friend's machine with vista and almost 1GB rom No VT-X options and he also got NG.So I guess what pk said is right its more dependent on the OS type.I tried with win8 32-bit system and one of them showed NG.The other one was 64 bit and it didnt work as expected and there was no NG.Had to turn on VT-X.

On other 64-bit windows 7 I didnt turn on VT-X but still got option for NG.

So far so good.I am sure after all detection modules go active (dyna-gen) if we have NG or not the difference in detection ratio's will be marginal.I hope they find a way to make NG work on some 64-bit systems without getting me to turn on VT-X.

So far I just threw some files on this guy that avast! 2014 deepscreen missed and it definately got caught but I am going to wait until everything is ready now.
