Hi all,

Thank you Avast Team for Avast 2015 Beta 2 . :)

I have issues with this Beta 2 which are as follows:

1.Avast Boot-Time scan, the problem is Avast itself.
After two minutes of scanning the following is shown on my screen:

c C:/PROGRAM FILES/AVAST SOFTWARE/AVAST/RESOURCES/RESOURCES.PAK ERROR 42125 (ZIP ARCHIVE IS CORRUPTED)

2 I have NG installed, but it does not work at all (for me anyway).

3. I also installed Grimefighter installed, but I cannot see it anywhere in GUI is it functional yet?

I will go back to Avast 2014 for now.

I love the tweaks made on the GUI.

I hope these small problems will be fixed soon.

happy avast user :)

Grimefighter is not cool. It shows what it'll clean (roughly) and doesn't give any option to uncheck certain things and it doesn't even show in detail what it will clean. Sorry but i'm never going to trust a cleaner that doesn't want to tell emw hat it'll clean. Have too many bad experiences when they clean too much and that is pretty much always.

I have a suggestion.
When avast finds a putative virus, a menu pops up, as you know. But unfortunately there is no option for add it to exclusions. So if you want to add it to exclusions then, you have to click ignore and then you have to go to options menu to add it to exclusions. That's awkward. So please add "add to exclusions" to the list. :)

Sorry for lousy english. :D

hat's by design, because people tend to just exclude everything then because it's easier than to accept the fact it's malware or could be a malware. Because they just want the stuff so desperately. I've seen that before...

@pk or vlk
Nov that we have NG, what's the status on Dyna-Gen? Is it going well or are there problems with it? Would be awesome to see automated behavior rules generating, in similar way you make automated Evo-Gen detections.

So Finally after some trial and error NG was able make a VM here...It was a pretty quick creation from what the logs said.So far no performance issues.Although I have one question about sandbox/deepscreen same as what rej said:

Is NG same as dyna-gen?? Or dyna-gen is the thing coming in next week?

Dyna-Gen will come in next beta, it has something to do with the signatures.

http://www.avast.com/de-de/virus-update-history

All signatures named Dyna:............. are for Dyna-Gen.

PS: Results from my last test:

@pk: Tried to run some malware today and system again locked up, couldnt get orsbang up to create a crash dump unfortunately.

Dyna signatures are made by hand. Dyna-Gen would be the same, just 100% machine generated, like the Evo-Gen signaturs.

@True Ind
No, NG is not the same as Dyna-Gen. NG is just a sandbox which needs Dyna signatures in order to make positive detections of malware. They depend on eachother but this isn't DynaGen.

I had some trojans cut also, but after 5-6 files and 4.7 of 5.9 GB Ram used and CPU locked at 100 percent my system locked up and
i had to hardreset it.

Also some trojans slipped by and infected my system, but i already nuked them by deleting Autorun and files. Only some not
harmful files left.

Steve I think we must give the NG a break here.Test one file at a time and then give it some rest  ;D

The NG processes are not closing after the file in closed and so on all the stuff inside the VMs is stored in memory and
sooner or later you will run out of it. :)

If you want to test it against more files turn off self-protection, then you can kill the processes :)

Also my Avast Premier wants to update to a newer version which is the actual final release :)

In the opening announcement...

Note: In this beta build, not all detections are 100% operable yet, so I wouldn't recommend using the new DeepScreen for detection testing for now. It will be 100% operable in the next couple of weeks - we will certainly let you know when is the good time to start testing with your malware collections

Still I think the above is a bug and should be fixed.

@Charyb

I know about that...I read it but I am wondering the thing they are telling there is dyna-gen or not?

Yet another problem free build. I don't ever recall so problem free beta builds. In fact Beta2 feels a lot lighter compared to v2014 stable or Beta1.

is there supposed to be NG shortcuts on our desktops then?, I sont have any, all I have is safebrowse and avast.
Does this mean im not set up properly?.
