Just to be clear, my post had nothing to do with email notifications but referred to the boot notification.

Sorry Bob. I should read or quote (or both) more carefully  :-[

Indeed, but I like to see both features (boot and email) implemented :)

Hi,

You don't say what avast version you have or how you installed the beta version ?

If you did a clean install of the beta, then it would be running effectively in trial mode until you registered or applied your license/activation code. That said 30 days in most cases should be enough to see the beta through to completion. This particular beta2 build has only been out a week.

Even if the overall duration is more than 30 days, it will probably be OK after that.

I have installed Avast Premier Beta. So, when a new build is out, the license will renew?

If the license is still in date then when an update of the beta or regular release of avast (not a beta). You didn't say if this beta2 build was a clean install or an install over a previous Avast Premier version or Avast Premier Beta1 version ?

What it won't do is give you a license that you haven't paid for after any trial period (typically 30 days) ends.

Did you formerly have Avast Premier installed and did you have and apply the license for it ?

The license is valid for 30 days, no matter which version you use ... beta or stable version.

Yes, a clean would result in a 30 day trial period (as it has no reference to the previous version), until you input the license/authorisation code for avast Premier.

I am wondering. Does avast! send invitation by e-mail to try out the beta programs ? and if it does to whom ?

I am asking because I've got a post in the Spanish forum by an Avira user who says he got one.

Don't think so, at least I've never heard of it.

That is what I thought. Well unless one is a beta tester and may be, I suppose, avast! would notify of the new beta, I think.
