Hi and welcome to forums !

Just open your Display Properties and under SCREENSAVER tab you will find drop down menu (arrow pointing down). From the list, chose avast! antivirus and that's it...

c:\windows\system32\ (at least in Windows XP file is over there)

File name is: AVASTSS.scr

Just a sec... If you want to have even better screensaver I made... I'll post a link in about few seconds... OK ? Stay tunned...

There is 3D avast! logo rotating on your screen... full color logo 360 degrees and then wireframe logo...

See screenshot:

I'll be back in a minute...  ;)

Here it is:

..:: DOWNLOAD THE 3D avast! SCREEN SAVER ::..

Download the zip file, unpack it somewhere on your HD. Then just put those 2 files ( avast_Scre.swf and avast_SZC_SCR.scr ) into your Windows root folder.

Then go to Display Properties again... choose SCREENSAVER tab and look for avast_SZC_SCR.scr

Apply it and enjoy it... Note: You have to have Flash player installed on your machine to be able to watch it...

Cheers !

It's great! Could you just make it to rotate a bit slower? This one tries to spin me out ;D This one would be a good replacement for official avast! Screensaver :)
Too bad it requires installed Flash (not everyone have it).

Well, these days believe me, everyone have it... even if someone doesn't have it, they visited some Flash sites at least once in their life, and it was required to have Flash player installed... so they had to download it in order to see the contents... anyway, flash player is free for everyone.

Yes, it's possible to make that animation slower but then again... animation will be "jumpy", not smooth like it is now... that's just because I tried to save some memory by using less number of total frames. Less frames = jumpy animation, less frames with higher FPS (frames per second) = smoother animation... good number of frames and great FPS (at least 24 pictures per second) = amazing snimation..  ;D

Cheers !

EDIT: Also there are some freeware utilities that will turn those two files into just one large scr file. That way no flash player is required... it's just I can't find those utilities any more... no matter how hard I search, no trace of them any more... and I don'ty even remember the name...  :-\

You might also want to try The Avast Gang screensaver
Which you can down load from HERE

For more info about this screen saver, and where all these pictures came from, take a look at the following thread:

Yes, exactly... don't pay attention to this:

And original file should be located in here:

c:\windows\system32\ (at least in Windows XP file is over there)

File name is: AVASTSS.scr

That's just regarding original avast! screensaver... this one I made, you should just put inside Windows root folder (both files, SCR as well as SWF)

Cheers !

There is another screensaver I made for RejZoR, but if you like it you can download it too...

Although, you have to be quick, 'cause soon I'll have to remove that file from the server... lack of free space, sorry...  :-\

bri, there is no folder in Windows called ROOT. Root means, "very first"... beginning of the beginning...

So, just place your files in here:

C:\Windows\

and you'll be fine...

Cheers !
