I tried the 2015 Beta 3 just out of curiosity. I got the browser links on the desktop with the NG, but Google Chrome current version wouldn't open at all and MSIE 9 was dead slow. When it finally opened after over 2 minutes, got a blank screen for another couple of minutes before the homepage opened. But no bookmarks came along with the browser.

I typed in an address and it took a full 3 minutes for the page to begin to open. After waiting another several minutes, I gave up. The page never did fully finish opening. I tried another link and same thing. I reverted back to my prior setup. I'll wait for the final and see what happens.

This all could be a result of my 2008 Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, Vista 32 bit and all updates with 4G RAM, Intel Pentium dual quad processor T2390, 1.86ghz. No virtualization available in BIOS.

I have a windows 7 64bit. I have installed, beta 3 on it how do i know if NG is working correctly? I don't see any function or Desktop icons everyone has been talking about? Also does NG have to function to get DynaGen detections? or is it not online yet?

Win10 isn't even out for alpha testing. It will be 12 to 18 months before avast will be compatible
with Win10. Win10 is not stable enough for even alpha testing. When Win10 becomes a Release
Candidate (RC) then you can try installing avast. MS will be making tons of code changes before
it's even ready for public beta testing. Have patience.

@ Para-Noid:

check here = http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview

The keyword is "preview". Meaning it isn't ready for release.

Right after installation, if your system has the feature, avast! is setting up it's Virtual Machine. This takes a considerable amount of resources and when it first sets this up, everything crawls.
Go for a walk, do something good for someone else, once you come back and this task has been accomplished, your computer will again behave itself
as before.
This only happens after installation when you system is rebooted after the initial install. Thereafter, no more delays. :)

Try a repair:
Programs and features > select avast! > Scroll down and select Repair.
When finished, REBOOT

Thanks Bob. I've read this entire thread now and saw some comments about older computers, and the necessity of having virtualization available. I may download again and give it another try, although I'm far from a beta tester. I only surf 'safe' places, forums etc - or listen to oldies music on Youtube.
