Looks like avast might be loosing a customer as in me. I believe this should work for Windows 10. I tried few other antivirus softwares and all works excellent on Windows 10. It only avast not working :(
Just because some other AV's are looking like they're working with Win10 preview you can't rely on it, like in the development stages with Win8 other AV's were not recommended to be used until the later RC versions.

Using a preview version is pre Alpha build which is pre Beta to pre RC so you really cant expect AV companies to guarantee functionality and reliably protect you for some time yet.

You are greatly overreacting and exaggerating the situation. You can't possibly expect full support for a product that has hardly entered development...

This is how development cycles usually go:

- Prototype (rough idea)
- Technology preview (presentation of ideas planned) <----------- WIN10 TP IS CURRENTLY HERE
- Alpha versions (further development of planned stuff)
- Beta versions (major bugfixes and improvements)
- Release Candidate versions (major changes halted, fixing of existing features)
- RTM version (released to partners)
- Final release (released to customers)

So you can see where Windows 10 Technology Preview lands in the development cycle. You can expect better support from avast! side somewhere around BETA version stage though most start adding support in the RC or RTM stage when things are already fully finalized.

Hi all! Installed 2015 Beta3 Pro edition in my Win 8.1 x64 and noticed a couple  things:

1) The Windows Notification Center states that I need to enable spyware and virus protection.
2) The Avast! taskbar menu reads "avast! shields control -> Enable all shield (4 disabled)" but the main Avast! screen in "Open avast! user interface" displays "YOU ARE PROTECTED/All shields active/Everything up-to-date"

Has anyone else noticed the same behavior?

Have you rebooted since installing ?
If you have, here's a simple fix:

clean install beta 3 with virtualization disabled. vbox, ng etc. all loaded but no ng icons. ng inoperable. reinstalled w/virtualization
enabled and now almost everything working well. only problem, as usual, AOS kills IE. google fine. IE works ok in virtual mode except
starts in default mode.
did note ng requires 400 -600 megs memory to operate. makes this old system run pretty slow in ng mode with only 1.94 gig total
memory available.
normal mode excellent with very low memory and cpu consumption. maybe feels a bit lighter than 2014.
overall i think will be excellent product when finished. will continue testing.

Sorry you picture isn't there.

The image (video clip) is there, showing that the avast UI won't close using the right click on the Taskbar tab for avast. EDIT: added image extract of puturaya20 link, this is only a still image not video, but you should get the picture (excuse the pun).

It also doesn't work with XP Pro either - the Alt+F4 keyboard shortcut does work. I had switched the self-defence off in case that might have been effecting it.

Apparently i found a bug is this latest Avast beta3. :(
Today i tried to use windows update but i was allways getting this error code:803D000A and was unable to download any update.
Disabling all Avast shields resolved the problem.

PS: I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

doesn't work on windows 8.1 with avast premier either lol, no big deal, hardly anyone ever uses that shortcut, I never use the taskbar to close anything tbh.

I can't believe the update from beta 2 to beta 3 deleted my antispam blacklist...
I'm sure, completely sure it was there. I've upgraded, not clean install. Now it's empty  >:( >:( >:(

Have you rebooted since installing ?
If you have, here's a simple fix:
http://youtu.be/5eqPZUxmbOY

Right click the avast ball and choose disable all shields, wait a few moments then re-enable and all should be fixed.

bob3160 and CraigB thanks so much for the hint!

Unfortunately the trick did not work. "disable all shields" did not have any effect at all; i.e. no warning message, nothing! So I rebooted my laptop and then I got a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD message referring to (gwdrv.sys) which is a driver of the GlassWire network monitoring tool (https://www.glasswire.com/). Reverting back to avast! 2014 solved this problem. So it looks like there's an incompatibility between avast! 2015 and GlassWire.

Thanks again for your help!

I had reported the incompatibility to GlassWire right after they release their last beta. Apparently they still haven't corrected the problem.
My action was different from yours. I removed GlassWire and stayed with the current beta version of avast!. :)
