System Restore and the avast! Self Protection function

Currently i need to turn off the Self Defense Module in order to make and restore
reliable System Restore Points.
Is this being worked on so the 2 function can be made to work reliably together ?

Avast Team, this is a critical feature/function that needs to operate correctly.
I have SR in my scheduler taking a restore point daily.....I cannot afford to "manually" manage on every PC each day to go disable SDM, create RP, then re-enable.  I would think Avast does not want SDM disabled anyway.  I assume since Avast has dived into VM side of world with NG that Avast can manage this process to work correctly.  Another way to look at this is if Avast/SDM does not allow a correct (non-corrupt) RP creation what happens on MS updates where MS does a RP creation ? .....this situation is very bad. 

I think Avast should not corrupt or hinder creation or restoring of points.  Avast program itself should work on a "restore" as well without SDM having been disabled, but if this is not workable then I could handle having to disable SDM for a restore to have a non-corrupt Avast.  However, in no scenario should a restore point of the PC system/files be affected on RP creation or restoration by Avast/SDM....this is just not acceptable.  An A/V that compromises the integrity of a PC & main O/S functions is not going to be viewed as worth the value of the virus protection you are giving.

There have been many posts on this issue dating way back in other versions.
This is a core function of Windows and like Avast it is meant to protect the user.....Avast Team needs to address this.
Looking forward to a response of some sort from Avast Team.

What does Avast see/reproduce ? .....all supported versions ? (ie. 2014 & 2105)
What is liability to user with SR ?

Thx...........can you tell us the "extent" (exposure) of the issue ?.........example......
Does this issue corrupt the restore or just Avast corrupted on the restore ?  ....there is HUGE difference here.
Can you overcome (work around) by disable SDM on create or restore or both ?
Is this issue in 2014 & 2015 ?
Will the fix be in 2014 (ala EMU update) & 2015 ?

The problem was introduced relatively recently - I think in the last build of Avast 2014. It has something to do with some registry access filtering inside self-defense.
I'm not sure what the impact is -- I think it just makes SR inoperable at the times Avast self-defense is on.

The fix will be included in the next program update (i.e. Avast 2015 latest version only).

Thx....but for those systems on 2014 last/latest build (still considered under support by Avast) & 2015 could you confirm if it is just the Avast install that is corrupted (ie. you'll need to re-install Avast on a restore) or if the Windows Restore itself is corrupted and either it does not work or the machine will be un-bootable (ie. since you mention registry issue) ?  If it is just a Avast clean un-re-install that is not too bad......PITA but manage-able....if it is that this corrupts the restore image or worse, makes PC on a restore unbootable then that is...well, really bad.

VLK....any chance I can get a response to my question ? ...........Avast Team should know the "exposure" of this issue and since a fairly important one I'd really like to know my risk level.......is it just Avast being corrupted or all my Restore Points ?

You feel comfortable leaving SDM off ?
I ask because if the answer to my question is 1) YES, the bug will corrupt System Restore Points then I will also turn off SDM,.....if the answer is 2) NO, only Avast install will become corrupted on a Restore then I'll leave SDM ON.  My thinking is a Avast clean un-re install on a System Restore is not too big a deal versus having the liability of SDM OFF....but having Avast Corrupt System Restore Points then turing SDM OFF is needed.  Thus, my need to understand the extent/impact of the bug.
It is a simple question and one the Avast Team should know.....and since SR a critical feature I was hoping for a timely answer.
