Avast saying adobe reader needs updating, when it doesnt.
« on: October 05, 2014, 09:11:35 PM »
Ok the adobe reader on my computer is: 11.0.08

When I check for updates from inside the program it lists 11.0.08 version and says no updates available.

When I go to the adobe reader website and select to update it, the same 11.0.08 is available to download.

But in Avast's software updater it as it listed as version 11.09.29 and when I try to update it, it gives an error.

I'm thinking its something to do with this: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1053417

Ahh I wasnt sure if this actually posted as it timed out. But I solved the problem. It seems to be adobe updating reader for some security patch and so you have to click on details in avast, which takes you to a security / patch page on adobe. Then you can download the right version for you and update it. Then when you check the software updater again, its showing the right version.
