You have one year the time to take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10. So there is no need to upgrade immediately.
My advise : If you want to upgrade, it doesn't hurt to wait. And at least make an image backup from your current installation before you upgrade.

Since I'm already beta testing, I know what I'm getting into long before the final release. I create regular image backups and hopefully everyone else also does.
The creation of an Image backup needs to be a part of your regular security plan. It is probably more important than the use of all those security programs running on your system.
There is no such thing as perfect protection and the image backup is one way to recoup if your system becomes infected or you suffer from a hardware failure.
My reply was also directed at someone who decided NOT to upgrade to Windows 10 but stay with windows 7.
(I'm already running Windows 8.1 and have used Windows 8 since early beta days.)
