Not happy about this.

Because you’ve reserved, Windows will automatically take care of the download in advance. Then you’ll get a notification when your upgrade is ready to install. That way you can start using Windows 10 immediately – or schedule a time to install that’s convenient for you. If you have any more questions, check out the upgrade FAQ.

If you don't plan to upgrade as soon as you can, cancel the reservation. You will still be able to get the upgrade for free at any time up to July 29, 2016 and it will not download until you choose to do it.

Now users are advised not to install Windows 10 a la default but be aware and pay ample attention to risky privacy settings. Go to Privacy Settings via Start > Settings > Privacy to change the default settings, please.

Standard all txt and spoken txt goes directly to Redmond so the personal assistent  MicrosoftContana could know to learn you better.
Also the content of your address list is uploaded to MS. Every visited webpage will be known to MS to be checked by SmartScreen Technology.
Windows 10 will let you share your Wifi passwords with friends from social networks.
Every program and app can read out your personal ad-ID.
The new browser Edge is going to show you personalized ads.
All your location history is continuously saved by the PC. The apps you will install will directly recognize who you are /name-picture.
So why there is no-one here in this thread who has questioned why Windows 10 is handed out completely free? MS certainly wants you and your new OS to be the MS and Bing product.
Not convinced yet, then read here:  http://articles.forensicfocus.com/2015/07/27/project-spartan-forensics/

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

I have windows 10 Pro installed on two systems. Neither of them has Bing as the search provider and Chrome is my default browser.
Never use the default options to install ANYTHING. This includes you OS. :)

All the items you list have already been pointed out by MS.
You don't need to use Edge as your browser. Simply change your browser.
Here's how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpAHKjFNgMM
Some of us have tested Windows 10 since before the first preview release. :)
Read through this topic to get your answers. That's why it's here. :)

@Bob3160: Thanks for your reply.
What you advise: downloading/installing W10 NOW or LATER?

Kind regards, Hermie

Hermie,
It's a decision that's up to you. I like to be first so I've already converted 2 computers to Windows 10 when the RTM build was released (10240)
Since there is no rush, you've got a whole year to do it, you may want to wait and let the early birds work out the kinks. :)
Yojur computer, your choice. :)
