If you upgraded then I would recommend that you run Xboot to clean the start.  I did that as my initial boots were 4 minute... Now 40 seconds from power on :)

Thanks! Mine went from 7 minutes down to less than 1 minute.  8)

Has anyone else have problems with third party firewalls?  ???
Win10 won't let me install Private Firewall. And I'm getting ticked off.  >:(

I'll send them an email. I have found email is the best way to contact them.

Avast's firewall installs and it's technically a third party firewall. :)
Don't know if what you use is compatible ?
I'm quite happy with the firewall that comes with Windows. :)

Okay, I installed Classic Shell and I now have a Win7 style "start button".
The problem is I still can't get rid of the search box in the lower left corner. Any ideas?  ???

I like the HIPS in PFW. It's stronger than Windows Firewall and I'm not to the point of trusting the HIPS in avast free.
I need more information before I activate the HIPS in avast free. To me it seems like another attempt at the old behavior shield.

Right click and find cortana context menu, u can change it to a icon or off I think...

Found it.

Right click in the "search box">highlight "search">click "hide".  Click "show search box" to undo.
Or click "show search icon" to show icon next to start button.

After all this time and all of the beta testing I have done, you would think I would know how to "explore" new things.  :-[

IMHO, I have come to the conclusion Win10 is way better than Win8.1. All you have to do is get it set up the way you want it.

Window 10 is way better in my opinion as well.. I'm going to upgrade back to it.. I miss the edge browser. I just need to buy a laptop coolant fan pad to help prevent overheating.

I've found that to be true for any software installed

Maybe you need to open it up and blow out the built up garbage ???
Simply elevate the back end of laptop to make airflow easier.

I have Avast Enterprise Security, Education. I have Installed Windows 10 professional on 5 computers since the final version was punished, all upgrades from Win7 and Win8.1, all finished within 30-40 minutes. All work perfectly, and all software has worked, except Avast Endpoint Protection. I tried re-installing it. Windows 10 will not let it install. So be aware and don't upgrade until Avast fixes it. :-[
Welcome to the forum. :)
I've notified Avast. Hope it helps.
I've been told that Avast is working on the problem but at the moment there is no ETA for the fix.

Get Puran, it's much better than the built in tool.
Puran isn't for Win10 as of yet, the installer is only recommended for XP - Vista - Win7 - Win8.
That doesn't matter. It works perfectly on Win 10. No program has to say Windows 10, or any other version, for it to work just fine.
