Windows 8.1 seemed much more stable to me.

I also feel W8.1 was very solid.
W10 is showing the "odd glitch"/questionable stuff.

For the paranoid among us. :)
Windows Tracking Disable Tool
(Use at your own risk)
Since I'm not so paranoid, this isn't a tool I'll be using. :)

Bob really :)

Don't you understand that Privacy has nothing to do with being paranoid, but everything with Security.
The smaller your fingerprint on the Internet is, the safer you are !

Greetz, Red.
Sorry Rednose,
there is no privacy on the internet. There hasn't been any for several years. :)
I've preached for a long time about Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 as to how good an OS it is.
Funny, I received a lot of negative remarks back then.  :)

Not from me. ;)
Frankly I was on board from the beginning as I upgraded from xp to W8 Preview and the rest is history.
I'm also excited about  W10 although it is in it's infancy I think :)

If you expect Grandpa to be happy, I suggest you upgrade this Computer to at least 2 gig of ram. :)

Nah, we will see how it will work out :)

It had 2 GB before, but i had to remove one of the RAM sticks.

Also we might need to get a license as well, since its not activated.

By the way: I installed password-protected Avast Free on it. :D

Are you really sure, Bob?

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10525

http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2015/08/18/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-10525/
I am not opting in to the Insider Preview program. I'll wait for the changes they determine are good enough to be pushed as regular updates. Insiders don't get just an update, they get a whole new version of 10 that has to be installed just like before 10 was released. I say no thanks. I was an Insider during the preview phase when I had 10 in a dual boot configuration but now that I have 10 as the only OS on my main system, I'm not taking chances with it like that.
