If you go to "notifications and Actions" in Settings you can pick and choose what icons show in the taskbar. :)

The Roolback feature can be a lifesaver. It can also be a Windows 10 breaker.
I ran into a problem a few days ago on one of my laptops after using the Rollback function.

Well, if you've run Edge, then that is set to use both Cortana and Bing natively.  You'll need to go into Advanced Settings within Edge to disable relevant stuff there.  Not something everyone knows about, and the data stream in Windows 10 is tightly integrated everywhere and in so many different places that it is hard to nail all of them down.

Example:  (You are offline, not connected to the Internet)  You run a not-so-well known program, such as HardwareMonitor, as a .zip file, IE's Smart Screen will pop up and say it can't connect to the Internet, and you have to choose whether to connect, Allow, or Deny.  I'd imagine there is the possibility Smart Screen reports back to Microsoft what your decision is, and what program it is you are trying to run.

You do not have to connect to allow the chosen program to run, not yet, anyway, just so you know.

So, there's that.

“This is a threat to national security” my bottom.

Since when was privacy a 'threat to national security' - I think they are more concerned about its ability to uninstall cracked/hacked software ;)

The first line is a great contradiction:
Quote from: extract of link
The Deputy Chairman of the state Duma from fraction “Fair Russia” Nikolay Levichev

After that I found it very hard to commit to reading it.

Most software reports back to home. That includes Microsoft and also Avast.
Amazing how when the company is Microsoft, people just simply assume the worst.

If I were sharing things that might not be exactly legal to share, I'd be concerned too.
To me this isn't a reason to not install Windows 10. I have it on 6 computers and laptops at home. :)
