Try a reboot and then force it to check for updates again.
Are you on Insider build updates or not ?

Well being I noticed it two days ago there have been many reboots and unfortunately when I go to the Windows Update Page shown on Screenshot 1 it's just always like that/there.
Can't force an update when it's already in update mode Bob

edit: Simply put it has been stuck like that for at least 2 days

You could try Windows troubleshooting. It worked for me.

@schmidthouse, if the trouble shooter doesn't resolve your updating issue " which I doubt it will " as there has been numerous issues lately with a number of Win10 updates getting stuck at a certain percentage and the only option that has fixed it for me on 3 of my systems so far is as below.

Step :1

a. Press Windows Key + X.
b. Click on ‘Command Prompt (Admin)

Click ‘Yes’ if it prompts for UAC(User Account Control).
c. copy/paste the following commands into the command prompt one after the other and press enter after each command

net stop wuauserv

net stop bits

net stop cryptsvc

Keep Command Prompt window opened.

Step :2

Rename Windows Update folders

At the command prompt, copy/paste the following commands, and then press enter after each command:
ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 Catroot2.old
ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

Then copy/paste the following commands and press enter after each command:

net start wuauserv

net start bits

net start cryptsvc

Once that is done close the command window and retry the Windows update

Note! once the windows updates have gone through you can navigate to the two renamed "OLD" folders and delete them :)

Thanks guys for the input. Not happy but I will try the suggestions probably the troubleshooter first as is obviously easiest.
Having said that, I am curious as to whether or not any further updates (the upcoming updates) would clear it by itself
Probably wouldn't hurt to wait and see......or not :-\

Thanks Craig for the detailed suggestion. It good to have options. ;)

edit: Tried Windows Troubleshooter unfortunately with NO success

So an update.
Thanks Craig for your info as that resolved the issue which then allowed me to hide the messed up "Synaptics" update so it wouldn't keep trying to update.
Unfortunately, a System Restore didn't solve the issue as immediately it went into update and stuck there again.  :)

Your welcome :)

Any Synaptics version after 16.2 screws around with my system, you might find a better version on the Synaptics website as that's where I got my update to suit Win8.1 and it still works with Win10, Asus only listed my latest driver as 15.... and that was for Win7 but lost some of the functionality after the Win8 upgrade.

Yes. Well my thinking is, everything Driver wise is working just fine. I've also read that this particular update with accompanying errro message is a messed up update.
So all is good.
