Does anyone know what DataExchangeHost.exe does? I noticed it appearing after updating to Windows 10 and that it sometimes starts in background randomly. Looking at memory and CPU usage it doesn't seem to do much (or really anything at all), but I'd like to know what it actually does and why it starts - googe didn't give any relevant info. It is located in System32 folder and seems to be a legit Windows progress, Avast or VirusTotal don't react to it and it looks like it is properly signed.

C:\Windows\System32

Here's a VirusTotal of it:

It's also possible that it came with Office 2013, I installed it roughly the same time as Windows 10.

If you have a Program or a Game you just can't live without,
Check if it's compatible with Windows 10 Before you Convert.

Good site. One of the reasons I wasn't going to upgrade my HP Win 7 laptop is that it has a Lightscribe capable DVD burner that I use to label discs and I didn't know if the Lightscribe software would work in Win 10 since it is no longer supported. The site says it is compatible. One of my games isn't but I have a modified version of the old Win98 game that was modified for Vista and it works fine.

News from The Netherlands :)

According to the ACM ( Autoriteit Consument & Markt = Autority Consumer & Market ) it seems that Microsoft is violating artikel 11.7a of the Dutch Telecom Law, by downloading Windows 10 installation files withought informing - and approval from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users.

Good that we have such law in my country 8)

I don't know, if we have something like that in Germany.

There are no Win 10 installation files on my Win 7 laptop so I don't get this at all. I just did not install the update that installs "get Windows 10" so even that icon is not present. Even when that little program is present, I never saw any downloads of 3 to 6 GB of data.

I personally am getting very anoyed at the Windows 10 UPDATE process and the almost constant issues with updates not installing.
No other OS I've ever used has had this BS with updates.
Unacceptable.

I couldn't get that particular update to install either and had to download and manually install it.  However, it's the first time that has ever happened to me in any version of Windows.

I just saw in another forum where people using the latest preview build did not have any problem with installing that update. Interesting.
