Windows 10 - Everything you Need and Want to Know

There are also those who will wait and wait and wait till the waters clear only to find out

That's a little exaggerated. In my opinion, there is really no reason to be in the Insider program at this time. Unless you want to risk having to start over from scratch due to bugs in test builds. The good parts of those builds will quickly be pushed out in updates to those on the release version so why be a guinea pig? I was an Insider before release day but even then quit it and uninstalled the preview at least a month before release day. I don't use a lot of the new features so I wasn't a good testing candidate anyway. I really don't see anything earth shattering or groundbreaking in the upcoming update either so I can wait. I will update of course but I probably will see little if any difference in how 10 works because I don't use nor care about almost everything that is being changed.

It used to be that no one got the new OS when first released, instead they waited until SP1 was released.

That saved people a lot of hassle back in the day and I would guess with win8 and win10 this could well have been good advice

You've proved my point.... I've used both Windows 8 and Windows 10 from it's earliest availability.
I have  no complaints about that decision for either of these releases.
Those who upgraded from Windows 7 actually had the biggest learning curve to overcome.
It's strange to see how many people beta test various programs including Avast but, are afraid to do the same for their OS.

That update isnt available for me yet, i may have to use a LAN Connection to download it anyway, my WiFi is just too slow.

And all of my Universal apps are bricked too, lets see if it can even update to that build :/

I had that problem. Couldn't get to the Store app and none of the fixes worked.
I did an install of build 10565 only saving my personal files. No settings no programs.
Things are now back to normal except for some of the programs I still need to re-install.

I have to reinstall this machine anyway. BTW Running the restore point used in system restore 2 times would have fixed that too, but Avast decided to delete my restore points. -_-

I may reinstall when the final release of Threshold 2 is out. And i might dump Insider Builds then too. Im not sure. But first my father has to give me my USB back.

I'm not a fan of beta anything. Especially not OS's or security applications. I have very rarely tried beta versions of anything and only have done it when the beta version could be installed separately from the release version.

Well, second time around with W10, first time in August lasted 5 days before a update put my computer in a repair loop. So far running great about 2 weeks now with just a few minor hiccups. Both times I trimmed the fluff, uninstalled most of the apps, went into the privacy settings and turned everything off including Cortana, went into system settings and turned everything off involving an app or Microsoft. Just a tip, if you can't uninstall an app in the start menu by left clicking on it, try Ccleaner, it will remove them.

Microsoft Edge
Fast browser but not ready for prime time.
I used it to view a topic on this forum and discovered the following flaw:
Attachments do not appear in Edge.
If you attach a file or an image, the person viewing the post in Edge, will not see the attachment.
For now, stick with IE or use any of the other modern browsers.

The only issue I'm having with Edge is the emoticons still cant be used "on this forum"...several other forums I use have fixed this issue now, the forum Administrator needs to amend the post editor to make allowances for Edge.

Yes, I posted this issue months ago when I first upgraded to W10 and started using Edge here on the forum.
Also the " Insert Hyperlink" function doesn't work with Edge.
