@Dch48: In my own tests its not that good in blocking phishing sites, but i guess Microsoft has more in the works i hope also regarding Defender, like a new UI, better Zero-Day, etc.
Sometimes I go to sites where phishing sites have been reported and IE blocks every one of them. Even the most recently reported ones. It has also blocked sites for me in the wild. It definitely works better than the anti phishing in Panda Free AV, I couldn't say about Avast since I haven't used it in a while. That's why I said better than some AV products.

'Free' Windows 10 Has An Expensive Secret

http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/12/17/free-windows-10-expensive-secret/
BULL - There isn't any secret. The free upgrade has always been advertised as being good for one year from the release date.
If you want it and are eligible get it while the offer lasts or, pay the full price after the offer runs out.
It's that simple.

No there is no secret so the title of the article is misleading. There are at least two other things that the article conveniently ignores. One, Windows 10 will continue to be "adopted" after the one year date simply in the sales of new computers coming with it pre-installed. Secondly, Windows 10 is replacing 8.1 which wasn't bad in itself and really isn't that much different. Windows 7 was replacing Vista which is still the most vilified Windows version of all. People couldn't get away from Vista fast enough.

The assumption that Windows 10 will not be at the full retail value after the year expires is just that, an assumption. I expect that it will be since very few people buy a retail copy of an OS. I would think that only those who build their own computers would be doing that.

Six Reasons Why Governments Should Upgrade to Windows 10

I highly doubt that any Governments are going to read this forum. :)

Even if they did or read the article concerned, would they A) believe it coming from MS wanting to push win10 on the world or B) Governments and Enterprise have much invested in proprietary software which is unlikely to work on any OS other than that it was designed for.

On that point - much of the UK (National Health Service) NHS still runs on XP and they are paying MS to still be running on XP with updates.

On this point I find it hard to understand how "Investing" (by paying MS) in "anti-progress" Regression makes any $$sense$$
Do companies/Institutions think they are going to halt progress. That MS will maintain xp "Forever".
I've heard all the arguments, pragmatic and financial and I still  don't get it :-\

Didn't you read the important bit about not really being able to update, I have now highlighted. Some Government/Enterprise have proprietary systems that cost 10s if not 100s of millions to implement.

Ok I got that, however that still I think begs the question. What's going to happen? How long is this sustainable?
What's the solution? I mean xp isn't going to be around forever.
That's what I'm not understanding ;)

Presumably because IT projects (especially in Government) seem to progress at glacial pace and have the specs changed at a faster pace, so progress is like one step forwards, two steps back. All of this leads to huge cost overruns.

They may well have a new systems/ in development, but that is possibly years away, but will probably be based on Win10 OS, but who knows what the situation (OS) that will be around then.

All of this simply proves is that Government has no business running a business. :)
It seems not to matter which country we are talking about. :)
