Hi Dch48,

That is an interesting opinion. Are you meaning that that Windows 10 does not have the initial privacy issues anymore or considerably less of them? I thought their meta-data gathering was just the reason for promoting Win10 for free, as that is going to be their main earning and profit model and I have a lot of other services going after my meta-data already at the moment - like for instance my Dutch ISP, Dutch government and various commercial services like Google's to just mention the major one that knows more about my profile than I do know myself probably.

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

No, I'm just of the opinion that all the fuss about Win 10 collecting and sending data is , to quote Shakespeare, "Much ado about nothing". All versions of Windows, and all other operating systems, are capable of the same things. The big difference with 10 is just that they tell you about it. It's harmless to law abiding people and probably a good thing given the state of today's world.

Mine is already set to update automatically but it does not restart the computer unless I tell it to. I have yet to have it restart on it's own.

I'm upgrading my win 8.1 pc to win 10 right now.  I shouldn't have any problems with Avast?

At worst, (fingers crossed) you'll need to repair the installation.
