How do you disable that annoying Windows 10 notification trying to get us to buy Microsoft office and such alike?

Not sure if this helps, but I don't see them, the problem is I can't really remember exactly what I did. First off I use a Local Account not a Windows Account, not sure if that helped. I started the ball rolling by disabling Cortana and Bing as they are the main data gathering tools. I don't use Edge or IE.

I got rid of the desktop and logon images, as one of those has these has some tips and ads embedded. I just go for a plain coloured background.

I have been very reluctant to get win10 when I was going to get a laptop to replace my win7 netbook. I was even going to buy the Pro versions to give me more control, but at the time all I was reading indicated that only the Enterprise version was allowed to delay windows updates. So I just bought the laptop which had win10 Home 64bit installed.
If you decide to do this, this or this, do let us know how it worked for you. (As many others are also deliberating between a home or pro version, and it would be very edifying.)

I have already done the last two, I'm still toying with the first, ideally I only want to be notified and not downloaded until I request it (but that doesn't seem to be an option), as with my other two OS versions.

Is the metered option grayed out by you as many home users find it to be?

All you should have to do is untick the option in the pic below and remove the Office trial, CCleaner will make that easier :)

I got rid of it, not to mention stopping MS using your system and data limits as a bloody P2P source.

Is the "metered connection" option grayed out by you when logged in as a standard user?

As I said "I got rid of it" (as in not allowing MS to use my data resources) mine wasn't greyed out and I set it to a metered connection.'

Very interesting. Tons of Windows 10 Home users are reporting that the metered connection slider is grayed when using a standard user account (and setting the admin account to metered doesn't affect a standard account).

This appears to be for win10 Pro and Enterprise versions only, not to mention you have to pay for it.
