Now that the troublesome MS Update KB4512941 has been uninstalled on my machines, not sure how to keep/stop it from returning and wanting to download.

Here is how I used it to hide my problem update:

Interesting, I used the tool and it showed the trouble update. Checked the correct KB4512941 box and all seemed fine (Got the green "Fixed" check mark)

However the update still appears for downloading.

Same here for my update problem but, when you run the troubleshooter again,
It doesn't find that update anymore?
Wonder if there have been changes that make this tool not work any more?
I'll play with it somemore and see what happens.

Mystery solved. The tool works. You need to clear what's currently displayed in the updates.

I selected Pause updates for 7 days.
Next I selected Resume updates.
Once I did that and it again checked for updates, the offending update is no longer shown.
