Windows 10 KB4598298 update fixes crashes and restart issues

I haven't got the KB4598298 update in my updates, I don't know if this is just because it was only released yesterday (usually takes a couple of days for), but my auto check today reported I'm up to date.

Windows 10 bug corrupts your hard drive on seeing this file's icon

Windows 10 NTFS corruption bug gets unofficial temporary fix
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-10-ntfs-corruption-bug-gets-unofficial-temporary-fix/
https://www.osr.com/blog/2021/01/21/mitigating-the-i30bitmap-ntfs-bug/
Here's the information you need if you want to apply the patch to your system.

Windows 10 NTFS corruption bug unofficial fix
Download the driver from here:
https://github.com/OSRDrivers/i30Flt/releases/tag/v1.0
To install the driver after it's been downloaded and you've extracted the .zip file to a folder you can locate.
Open an elevated command prompt, and then navigate to the folder you extracted the files to.
Once in the folder with the files, you can run the following commands to install the driver.

RUNDLL32.EXE SETUPAPI.DLL,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 .\i30flt.inf

wevtutil im i30flt.man

fltmc load i30flt

A system restart is not required.
Once OSR's driver is installed, if it detects an attempt to access a path containing "$i30:",
it will block it and generate an event log.

Hope that makes things a bit easier.

I had a lot of problems with Windows, but as soon as I installed the OSR driver everything changed and now everything works fine for me and no problem. After you have installed the driver, you must unzip the zip file into a folder.
Once you unzip the folder, you will have to launch the installer, which will automatically download any missing drivers.
My friend had exactly the same problem, but he couldn't get rid of it. The only way was that he reinstalled Windows. He also noticed that after reinstalling Windows 10 to 10 PRO N, these problems were removed, but new problems appeared with the audio player, because it is not there. Windows 10 KB4598291 update fixes device deactivation, freezing issues
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-10-kb4598291-update-fixes-device-deactivation-freezing-issues/
Here's the info directly from Microsoft https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/february-2-2021-kb4598291-os-builds-19041-789-and-19042-789-preview-6a766199-a4f1-616e-1f5c-58bdc3ca5e3b

Well Microsoft aren't making a big deal of this, if you look at the Windows Update check, 'Optional quality update available' see attached.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security
