Where did you save the frst.exe program? .....  frst fix must be saved same place as you have the frst icon ... When you run it according to argus instruction it will find it and execute instructions in it....if not saved same place it will not work

Think it saved it to "my downloads" folder, will check later

May I ask what this fix will do exactly ?

Btw was the bit at the end of argus post also aimed at me? Remove but defender have orphans ? Not sure what that means

You had BitDefender Antivirus is not uninstalled properly.

C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\bdfsfltr.sys -- >  BD driver (orphans)  ;)

wasn't sure what version of bit defender I had (don't even remember having it ever), so I just ran the free uninstall one, hopefully that got rid of the remaining files

The driver has been deleted.

Re-run FRST and click scan.

reinstalled avast about an hour ago and it crashed again within 20 minutes :(

I tried using the free tool to uninstall it earlier, weird thing is I don't even remember having ever installed bitdefender? so im not sure which version to try to uninstall
(when I go to that site it asks which version I want to uninstall)

is there anyway of working that out from the file type?

if you look at the bottom pic here  http://www.bitdefender.com/support/How-to-uninstall-Bitdefender-333.html
there is a dropp down menu in the tool that say all bitdefender products so i guess the tool is the same for all (with same year), so just try one
