Avast is blocking portable applications
« on: October 08, 2014, 02:00:10 PM »
After the recent forced update of avast that is impossible to prevent I found out that some of the portable programs don't work. For example older versions of Firefox Portable won't lauinch (some of the newer ones will but I want use the old one - specifically firefox portable 4). Is there any way to either unblock it or downgrade to older avast version without that issue or do I have change the antivirus completly? So far none of the few suggested solutions I found on this forum didn't work. I'm using Windows XP.

It doesn't say absolutely anything but application simply won't start. It shows the process for a few seconds in task manager and then it disappears even from there.
