Email really scanned???
« on: August 12, 2005, 07:56:49 PM »
Hi all together,

Today I got two strange emails both with same attachment, one zipped, the other rared. The Internet-Mail scanner both times marked the mail as a clean message. As the mails looked quite strange I carefully saved the attachments and scanned them manually. Both were Beagle variants! Why did the mail resistant scanner failed.

System: XP Pro + avast 4.6 Home

Thanks

That's really strange. It would seem like the mail scanner didn't scan archives (which it should, of course!)...

Do you still have the saved files? If yes - you can try to send them (by e-mail) to yourself and check if they still don't get detected?

I'm sorry. I deleted both messages after recognizing that they are both infected by a virus!
