Has anyone else noticed WMI (windows management instrumentation) using constantly CPU after Avast installation? After I restart the WMI service, it is repeated again on next computer restart. I'm on Windows 8.1 pro 32 bit.

Does fiddling with System Restore (VSS) later when avast! is already installed and has generated NG image affecting the functionality of NG or it is only needed during image creation and doesn't matter anymore later?

EDIT:
Also, is anyone else experiencing flaky account panel functionality? It often starts loading, i see the loading circle animation but it never realyl opens that. When i wanted to remove an inactive system from it, clicking Settings button did nothing at all.

what about systems which have multiple HDD and SSD ?
can't you simply determine/ask for the volume usable for the NG operations ?

It will be enabled in RC3 again. We will not install NG just on slow disks. Decision will be made during installation.

So, if user buys the SSD and clones the partitions from HDD, they'll have to re-install avast! to get this feature enabled. People do this for SSD's quite often, but not for faster HDD's. For those they often install from new.

What do you mean saying "slow disks"? More details please :)

Does anyone notice that when logging on to your user account the Avast tray icon takes kind of long to appear with Avast 2015?

Pretty sure it was much faster with Avast 2014.

I've had a certain time where system sort of stalled with all the system trey icons loaded but didn't load others for some reason. Unfortunately i did no manage to confirm what was the cause of it. Re-installing avast! 2015 beta once with later cleaning with uninstall utility didn't help. So i made a full cleanup by manually cleaning registry with old free JV16 PowerTools and then passes of Wise Disk and Registry tools, defrag of my system partition and now it boots instantly even with avast! 2015 installed. So it was either a conflict or something else. But works fine with it now so it's most likely not avast!'s direct fault.

I suggest you uninstall avast! and observe the boot time. If things don't change, then it's not avast!.

I really don't like you (avast) turning on system protection and creating a restore point when I have it turned off and have my own plan in place. So, please don't.

Now that Grimefighter is included in the free version I have one question which has been asked many times before.
It shows it found issues but what are they?  ??? There is no listing of anything it found.  ???
I'm not going to give blind trust to anything. Please provide a detailed list of issues. Until that
happens I'm not going to trust Grimefighter at all. Period.

They will eventually change that, but currently using Volume Shadow Service is the fastest and easiest way. Though i'm not sure if they have to store the image permanently or not. I fiddled once with it after the image was crated so i'm not sure if NG was operational after that (if you for example clear all restore points).

Not seeing that on this XP Pro system (so wouldn't have NG, if that is the culprit) - I have had system restore disabled on all hard disks for more years than I care to remember and that is the way it still is.

I too prefer to have my own backup and recovery function.
