Holy cow...it seems the default email that is set at my.avast.com is after all the new username, it just needs some time to propagate through the servers, now my new login username is my current email i set prior to this thread, it took around 1 hour to be visible in the profile )).

I'm running Avast free addition on Windows 7.  How do I change the email address associated with my AVAST account (it was a Yahoo email).  I closed that email address a month ago and have a new Gmail address. Does anybody know how to do this? All I see under PROFILE is how to change a password.  I am not talking about changing the email address in the https://forum.avast.com/index.php?action=profile;area=account FORUM PROFILE, although that would be good to do as well. I am more concerned about communications from AVAST when the yearly license expires.  Thanks.

You need to logon to your my.avast.com account - in the settings > Manage Emails, add your new email address.

Having added the new email address, select that one as your default email, this is what is used as your forum email address (so it will/should change automatically).

Just a word of advice, sending out PM's to get an answer is not the way this forum works.
As I told you in my reply, use the forum so everyone can benefit from the answer.
You have already received your answer from DavidR.
Have a great day.

I just want to send a "Thank You" to DavidR, but I am not even sure how to do that. He was very helpful, and I am grateful for that. There is no question that I am totally lost using this forum - I find it to be incredibly confusing. I am hoping this "Thank You" note is going only to DavidR but I suspect it will reach a wider audience...  I don't know how wide. Sorry that I am completely lost using this Forum. Anyway, Thanks to DavidR. It worked. Sincerely, Richard Oppenheim, Ph.D.

You're welcome.

With your "It worked." comment I trust that everything is now OK ?

I wasn't sure if your earlier comment was still correct or superseded by the above.

If you are still having a problem I can explain in more detail.
