Avast Folder Size

As I've mentioned: with Avast 9, the folder size was about 320 MB, and now it's 370 MB.
Is that normal? And what might be those extra 50 MB?

If you happen to have kept a copy of the old avast installation/setup files, even keeping just the last one, it will give you an indication that the new program update is larger.

For the most part this will be related to new functions and features. If I recall correctly the latest avast 2015 installation/setup file is around 120MB fir the free version and that is around 20-30MB larger. This would also be compressed, so would be larger still when unpacked during installation/update.

As an avast user not employee, I can't say specifically what makes up the increase in size other than new feature are likely to mean a larger size.

Well my speaking from memory is never going to be entirely accurate - having recently done a clear out of old installation files.

But it goes even further to confirm the program and its new functions is larger. Good job someone is keeping records
