Avast icon doesn't stop spinning
« on: October 22, 2014, 03:03:04 AM »
Avast constantly scans my PC, and it only stops if I disable the file shield. It's making my laptop run hot. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried repairing it and I restarted my computer, but it didn't change anything.

Are you using the final release of Avast! 2015? Uninstall it again via add/remove and follow instruction. Download and run the avast uninstall utility in normal mode. It will ask you that this tool will restart your computer in safe mode automatically and follow instructions. Install a fresh new copy of avast. Once installed it will do a quick scan. Once done. Restart your computer manually and register.

Note: Don't use Avast Cleanup Tool (Rejzors). Avast uninstall utility got improved and it does an excellent job.

What exact version of avast?
What os/sp?
Check device manager what is running.
A laptop only gets hot if you don't cool it properly.
Make sure air can also flow underneath the laptop.
Best is to use a laptop cooler.
