AVG and Avast!
« on: August 17, 2005, 07:24:42 PM »
Hi there, I'm a AVG user but i'm tired of all there update issues as i've have to kept reinstallin the Program and tryin to get help from there help boards. Well, If I switch to avast there all a good bit things i would like to know.

1. Is it free?  ::)

2. Are there any Update Issues known in the program?  :-\

3. Any skins are plug-ins for fun?  :-*

And if i choose to switch i am aware of uninstalling AVG but... is there any form of way different then usally to get rid of every file on here and is with AVG? Should i search *AVG* under search and search both HDD? Please post back on my question's  ;)

Control Panel is the best way to uninstall it.
Maybe, after you can search the registry for Grisoft entries.

You don't have to register every 60 days.
The HOME version is free for home/non commercial use.
It only needs to be registered once every 14 months.
This way Alwil can get a indication on how many people are using it.
It is all explained on Avast's website.

Wow, So far have had no problems. Unlike AVG this program does not shecdule a System scan. On AVG you had to go in and disenable it. Glad i switched and good thing it's free but so is AVG.

I am however surprised that this Program has shields for Web , E-Mail and even P2P.

Good job team

Scheduling is only available in Professional version.
