Avast keeps blocking threats that seem to be generated from the com surrogate(dllhst. dllhst*32 and dvdupdtrThe attempts are by the fffee5 virus and others.  The blocked attacks are as numerous as 45 per minute.  The result is that the comsurrogate files use up almost all the memory and 100% of the CPU.  Ending these files in task manager is only a short term solution since they come back within 15 minutes and the cycle repeats.  Avast shows no viruses.  Malwarebytes says I good as does their rootkit scanner.  I m glad my computer is not infected but it is still not useable like this

The computer is infected, I will need this log first

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Select  additions at the bottom
  • Press Scan button.

  • It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please attach both logs generated.
