Software Updater on Avast 2015

So far I like the new version. I see the software updater is still included (as I have seen the popup for out-of-date programs). But I can't find where to access this to manually check to see if there are any updates.  It is no longer in the Tools menu. Where did it go?

It's now located under the Scan tab.

Duh!  Sorry and thanks.

I simply can't understand why they feel it necessary to move features around when a new addition comes out. If you notice, the setting for Software Updater is still in tools.

So anyway, it's all good.

Many folks right-click on the buttons on the main Status page and configure them to show the features they use most.  I have Software Updater right on there.

As mentioned you can organise the main UI page and select the tiles you want direct access to, see image.
