web shield
« on: October 24, 2014, 02:10:51 PM »
recently my web shield has gone haywire on my avast free antivirus vs 2014.9.0.2021
it continually displays false positives on safe websites with the message URL:Mal
this is recent. i have run bootime scans and malwarebytes pro scans and come up with nothing. this box popping up continually is very annoying. any help in solving this is appreciated.

this usually mean something is trying to call home / connect to unsafe URLs

URL.Mal means URL or IP is blacklisted for whatever reason, there are can be many reasons
how do you know they are safe?
