Thank you for this great product!

I know that the virus signatures do get updated regularly.

But does the same happens for the executable code (avast!.app)? Or do I have to update manually and if so, how do I see the current version number of avast! for Mac on your website?

Regards
Andy

Hello Andy,
yes, the executable gets updated automatically as well. Since we have released "Avast Mac Security 2015" today, the current version is 10.0 (build 43029). You can check it in the About dialog.

Best Regards,
  Martin

You just asked if the program upgrades itself and got a positive answer from Avast! And then you reply that you are going to download and upgrade the program manually!?

Your welcome,
automatic updates for the program are available since the last update of Avast version 7. Everyone who meets a requirement of OSX version 10.6.8 64-bits and newer, should be since then migrated to the newer versions. If you met the requirement and from some reason haven't been updated yet, I would be very interested in finding a cause.

Best Regards,
