As a much older type of computer technician and very old time electronics technician, I tend to dislike add-on softwares of mostly ALL kinds. I especially dislike these add-on softwares just was I was about to praise AVAST, as I have been using it now for nearly 10 years.  Maybe the problem was my lack of good vision, or maybe it wasn't. I will ONLY now say, you missed out on some GREAT praising.  And that is a very real shame. Oh by the way, the DropBox installation failed for some reason for which I really do not care and would rather it not happen again.

There is now and always had been an opt-out box during the install.
It should be on either the first or second screen.
To cut down on "missing or not seeing" these boxes you may want
to use Unchecky.
Dell Inspiron, Win10x64--HP Envy Win10x64--Both systems Avast Free v17.9.2322, Comodo Firewall v8.2 w/D+, MalwareBytes v3.0, OpenDNS, Super Anti-Spyware, Spyware Blaster, MCShield, Unchecky, Vivaldi Browser and, various browser security tools.
