taklet anti virus

I have Avast on my desktop pc ,do i need to install in on a Samsung galaxy tab3 that my son uses via  wi-fi in he home or will my prog stop any nasties getting thru to it ?

You should have posted in the mobile section.
Since the phone connects through the wifi and not through your desktop,
the avast that you have on your desktop will not scan his phone.

You can protect your tablet by installing Avast Mobile Security and AntiTheft apps.

To check you home network, you can use the Home Network Security tool that is part of Avast 2015.
