BSOD aswvmm.sys error and unable to get into safe mode
« on: November 08, 2014, 03:26:34 AM »
As it says, I've gotten the "Your PC needs to be repaired" BSOD message. I think it's the latest Avast update that borked it all up, because I updated earlier today but declined to restart right away. As soon as I did restart, I've been unable to get back into windows. None of the options (1-9 with the various safe modes and all that) work for me, neither does going into UEFI settings.

I don't have a recovery disk and need help. I have windows 8.1

Further more, I'm having trouble consistently getting it to power on. There's also a different BSOD that shows up when i first boot up about a "winload.efi" file. All subsequent messages after that one are about aswVmm.sys.
