My God this version is a complete mess! Password protection doesn't always work and it detects an exe file as malware right after is being executed but not before.  :o
Details please. Screenshot would also be helpful.
(I also suggest that you change your avatar and suggestive username.)

First time poster, bear with me...  Have been running Avast Free on a Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 SP1 since 2011.  Never had a problem.  Got a notice for the latest update sometime ago but Holidays got in the way and didn't update until yesterday.  Ever since, computer will work OK for ~15-20 minutes then Windows will become completely unresponsive; only action is to turn off and reboot.  I read through this thread, tried Repair, regular Unintall, Avast Clear, no change.  Called Avast Tech Support and they wouldn't touch it, said it was a Windows problem not Avast.  Avast broke my computer!! Now what?

Welcome to the forum. :)
In the Control Panel, click on Program and Features > Select Avast > Select Change >
Scroll down and uncheck NG > When the operation finishes, Reboot your system and see if that solves your problem.

Once I open the CP, select Avast then select Change, the next screen has three columns: Shields (3 products checked, the rest '?'s), Tools (most all checked, else '?'s) and Language (English).  There is no NG box (what does NG stand for?  someone asked earlier in the thread and I never saw an answer).  If I hit Continue, it sets a restore point and says to reboot.  That's it.

Nothing below 'Home Network Security'.  Sorry, couldn't insert a screen print but it looks like yours minus the NG box

Your system may not be able to run NG in which case you wouldn't see it.
Maybe someone else has another idea ???

PLEASE HELP

I've been using AVAST Free Version for over 8 years and have been VERY HAPPY with it.......In November 2014, when the new update AVAST 2015 was release. My Incredimail functionality stop working, for some reason it's being block by the new AVAST 2015 update.

I reached out to Incredimail Technical Support and they say the problem is within AVAST and not with them. PLEASE HELP

I've not had a problem with the both co-existing before this last AVAST UPDATE 2015. Please help.

I suggest that you start your own topic so your question doesn't get lost in this huge thread. :)

Hi support Avast, for many days I noticed that when Avast Free attempt to upgrade the CPU with the definitions remains at 100% and to return it to normal operation I have to do the update manually, there are problems with the current version ??? I tried to uninstall the version, clean your PC with avast cleaner but the problem is the same !!

I await your response because it is very annoying

And no I don't see any setting that block websites!  So i have rolled this back twice  windows 7 on  Thinkpad w530

Make sure that Avast Online Security browser add-on isn't blocking your social network.
