2015 - Strange Pic Rendering When Surfing
« on: November 08, 2014, 05:29:43 PM »
2015 (10.0.2208 currently installed)

Surfing various webpages and intermittently getting strange rendering of pics as shown in the screenshot... just started since installing 10.0.2206

One site is http://www.dailymail.co.uk/ushome/index.html

Anyone else seeing this?

No problem for me.
Tried a repair and/or a clean install?

No problem here either, no artefacts/bad rendering in the whole index page and it is a very long page.

Interesting...

Yes I've done a clean install.

I cant imagine what else might be causing it.

Disabled the shields one at a time to see if there is a difference?
Cleared all temporary files on your system?

Your image had some Heading 'Students & Graduates' I didn't see that on the ushome/index.php page.

Not sure what browser you are using, there are times when I get a poor layout, but that is usually down to two add-ons I use in firefox, NoScript and RequestPolicy. That layout issue usually requires a 3rd party site to be allowed content access.

Im not too keen on disabling shields while surfing.

All temp files were deleted and that is one way I get it to render correctly... then at some point some other page will do it which is what I said at the beginning - it's kind of intermittent.

No the pic is from LibertyMutual's website, but it has done it consistently on the link I provided.

Using IE11... the only add-on's I have enabled are Java to which I did update that around the same time as avast, however there is no java on any of the pages I'm aware of in which this happens.  I'll disable that just to rule it out though thanks

Ok, seems that something is happening when opening/downloading the site. Let's see if we can narrow it down further. Does it happen also with other browsers?

I only use IE11...

This will be pretty slow paced so let me report back after I use it for a while.  I disabled the java plug in and it may be a long time before it does it again (every couple of days).

Seriously, it's really weird... Ill surf for hours with no problem then all of a sudden random pics are screwy.  Clear it out, go back to the same page and everything is fine.

Since no one else seems to be chiming in on this I'll have to assume it isn't avast causing it.

I seem to remember this happening on another computer years ago and it ended up being that NVIDIA needed to update their drivers... of which they haven't on my computer since July so Im leaning towards that now.

Ill report back if I have new info.

Thanks
